Making responsibility visible in the way an organisation works.
Arrived from an invoice or QR code? You are in the right place. A reference to HSE Certification — In Development acknowledges work towards the proposed program. It does not mean that the organisation displaying it has been certified.
The purpose
HSE Certification is being developed as a way to examine how organisations put Human Systems Ecology into practice, and how those commitments can be supported by evidence.
Human Systems Ecology is a transdisciplinary field that examines how human health, behaviour, identity, and resilience emerge from the dynamic interaction between biological systems, ecological environments, cultural frameworks, and complex adaptive systems.
The proposed certification pathway would look beyond a statement of values to the policies, relationships, decisions and everyday practices through which an organisation operates.
Explore Human Systems EcologyEmerging standards
These are areas of inquiry for developing the standards, rather than a final checklist or an assessment already in operation.
How work is organised around human capacities and limits, including workload, rest and the everyday conditions in which people work.
How an organisation relates to its place, built environment, resources and the living systems on which it depends.
How shared values, stories and expectations appear in everyday relationships, participation and responsibility.
How governance, incentives, decisions and feedback support learning and accountability across the organisation.
Verification
The approach being developed is intended to make the scope of a claim clear, the evidence reviewable and the status of a future credential easy to check.
Publish the relevant standards, criteria and scope so that organisations and their customers can understand what a credential would cover.
Develop an assessment method using relevant records, policies, examples of practice and review conversations. Governance and conflict-of-interest arrangements need to be established before certification decisions are made.
Establish how credentials will be issued, reviewed, renewed, suspended or withdrawn, and how the public can verify their current status.
This describes the intended direction. Final standards, assessment rules and governance arrangements have not yet been published.
Acknowledging early contribution
EJB Medical has contributed to early HSE implementation and development work.
We acknowledge its support as the proposed program takes shape. Development contributions and future certification decisions are separate: any credential would depend on assessment against the published standards.
EJB Medical is acknowledged here as a contributor, not as an HSE-certified organisation.
Public register
A public credential register is planned for when certification becomes operational.
The intended register would identify each certified organisation, the scope and standards version assessed, its credential dates and current status. This page will link to that register when it is available.
There are no credentials available to verify through this page at present.
For customers and organisations
No. An “In Development” reference describes participation in or support for development. Certification would require a separate assessment and an independently checkable credential status once the program is operational.
The proposed scope concerns organisational practice through an HSE lens. It does not replace professional registration, clinical accreditation or regulatory obligations, and it is not a guarantee of a particular treatment or health outcome.
The public register is not yet operational. If you have been shown a claim or mark and want to understand what it means, contact Mark using the enquiry link below.
